So you’ve decided on a destination wedding and you’re thinking that Jamaica sounds like a good option but you aren’t sure where to start with finding a family friendly all-inclusive resort. Keep reading – we’ve got ideas for you in all tourist areas of the island!
Our top pick in the Montego Bay Area is Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall. This resort is located just outside of the city – about a 10-15 minute drive from the airport. It’s nestled on the beach next to it’s sister resort, Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall. The Zilara is an adults only resort that allows its guests to pop over to Ziva if they choose. This means your guests who want a kid-free vacation can choose to stay on the Zilara side while your guests who opt to bring their kids can be accommodated as well!
A little farther down the road away from the airport, you’ll find Hilton Rose Hall. This kid-friendly resort has a water park complete with water slide and lazy river. Kids ages 4-17 can hang out in the Kids Club or Teen Zone where they can play video games or participate in organized activities.
If you’re ok with driving about 35 minutes from the airport, there’s an option in Trelawny. Royalton White Sands and Royalton Blue Waters are side-by-side resorts. The waterpark at this resort…. whoa man! They have lots of slides, a lazy river, and splash bucket that will keep kids happy for hours. Additionally, they also have a Kids Club and Hangout Teen Club. Additionally, during the summer they offer a special Seaside Camp with special activities and games.
I’m sure you’ve heard of Sandals Resorts – they’re known for their romance and adults-only atmosphere. Luckily for all of you who want a family friendly all-inclusive, Sandals also has a group of three resorts called Beaches. Two of their three resorts are in Jamaica – one in Ocho Rios. Beaches Ocho Rios has a water park and kids club like the other resorts above, but they have also partnered with Sesame Street to bring special entertainment to Beaches. Ages 17 and younger have access to an Xbox Lounge, fitness classes, and more. Another perk? They have a private beach – unlike a few other resorts on this list. The rooms at Beaches are not as affordable as elsewhere if budget is a concern for your group. It is a little over an hour and a half from the airport.
Beaches also has a location in Negril, about an hour and a half from the airport in the opposite direction. If you’re looking for the same excitement of the Beaches resort in Ocho Rios but would like a larger beach, then this is place for you! Yep, they also have the waterpark, kids club, and lazy river!
Royalton also has an option for you in Negril! Royalton Negril is the family friendly option but is connected to the Hideaway at Royalton Negril which is for adults only. This allows families to stay close to other group members who maybe want more quiet during their stay. If you’re looking for a waterpark, this is not the place for you as there isn’t one.
Lastly, you might want to consider the Azul Resort in Negril. It’s located on the same stretch of beach as the Beaches Negril Resort. You’re bound to see stunning sunsets here! They also have a Kids Club and they supply all of the baby/toddler gear you could need. Need a baby bathtub? They’ve got you. Need a stroller? Same, they’ve got one for you to use!
There are so many wonderful family friendly all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica to host your destination wedding! These are just a handful, but some of our favorites from our time on the island.
