Ellie and Mitch’s Sunset Jamaican Engagement Session

Jamaica is and will always be a magical, tropical getaway for us! We love the gorgeous beaches, oceanside sunsets, and friendly people. We also love the serendipity. Our chance meeting with Ellie and Mitch turned into a wonderful sunset Jamaican engagement session. Beautiful and romantic, Jamaica is the perfect spot to take destination wedding photos in a resort, boudoir pictures in a luxurious suite, and a sunset engagement session along the ocean.

Vacationing to Jamaica in June 2021, my husband (and videographer side of our team!) and I packed our cameras to capture the amazing sights and were hired to shoot photo and video for an intimate wedding while we were there. Couples Tower Isle in the Ocho Rios region of Jamaica is one of our favorite places, and the family owners of the resort give back to their local schools and community. The resort is beautiful, bright (perfect for photos!), and guests can enjoy an ocean-view sunset from their suite or along the pier. Staying at the resort, Trevor and I did just that: walked down to the pier with our cameras to catch the sunset dip below the waves. Taking gorgeous pictures (and selfies), we noticed Ellie and Mitch were quietly doing the same.

After introducing ourselves, we found out that Ellie and Mitch had gotten engaged a couple nights before (congratulations!). Ellie is a teacher, and Mitch is a PA and were taking advantage of Ellie’s summer break to vacation. To mark this celebratory adventure in Jamaica, we offered to do a sunset engagement session for them the following evening. Ellie and Mitch loved the chance to capture the beginning of their engagement in such a beautiful place like Jamaica. Also, who doesn’t love an engagement session at sunset?

Ellie and Mitch snuggled close for their Jamaican engagement session, enjoying the ocean breeze, the beautiful spray of colors on the horizon, and this milestone in life. We love meeting amazing couples like Ellie and Mitch. They are so sweet, and couldn’t wait to start this next chapter with more sunsets, live concerts, and being active outdoors. The evening was a beautiful sunset & Jamaican engagement session alongside the Caribbean Sea that we will never forget. We wish Ellie and Mitch all the best!
