Wondering what’s the best month to get married in Jamaica? Tropical locations are perfect for a destination wedding! However, keep in mind hurricane season, the heat, and the possibility of rain. The tropics mean sun! But we’ve got some experience with that. We have tips and tricks to beat the heat. We also know when the best months to get married in Jamaica are – we’ve got you covered!
The safest season to get married in Jamaica is actually before peak summer time. Hurricane season is between June 1st and November 30th. However, we’ve traveled to Jamaica and photographed gorgeous weddings in those months as well. June is a safer month, as there aren’t a ton of storms. We’ve never had any storms during this time for a Sara June wedding. However, June has been breezy! If you’re not used to the heat, dress appropriately! Wink, wink, we have some tips for hot weather weddings too, check it out here.
Ultimately, no matter what month you tie the knot, plan accordingly! Book flights to allow delays and travel time. Have a plan of action if the weather was to drastically change. We have lots of experience photographing weddings in the rain and getting creative! Rain or shine, your wedding is going to be spectacular! We have the positive attitude and innovation to help you along the way!
Tropical places are – obviously – hot. Jamaica is no different! Bring out the cute hats and sunscreen! Our photographer-videographer team is prepared to beat the heat. We know how to keep our equipment protected. This ensures your perfect wedding photos!
In our experience, Jamaica is more hot and humid during the end of June. July and August also tend to be muggy and sticky. To combat this, we highly recommend water! Set aside cute welcome gift bags as your guests arrive with bottled water, sunblock, and hand-held fans. If your ceremony is outside, we also suggest offering bottled water. Although, keep in mind whatever you set aside for your guests during your ceremony, might be in your wedding photos. Hydration is important! If guests can take the heat, offer water after the ceremony at your cocktail hour.
Jamaica is breathtaking! No wonder many people want to host their destination wedding here! Peak months to get married in Jamaica are December through June. These months are comfortable temperatures – especially March through May. However, it is more expensive during popular months. Jamaica and other warm, tropical destination wedding locations are pricey during holidays, spring break, and other romantic occasions. Valentine’s Day is also more expensive. Airfare and resort pricing and packages go up in cost during these months. However, the weather is gorgeous!
We recommend weighing your overall wedding budget with your wedding vision. If you’re okay compromising on other things in order to book your wedding during a holiday, discuss this with your partner.
Tropical locations are lush for a reason. Jamaica is no different. The rainy months for a Jamaican destination wedding include September and October. Prepared to get WET! However, in our experience, it has never rained the entire day. Your destination wedding might have an hour or two of rain, but always clears up for a portion of the day.
No matter when the rain hits, we’re prepared! Sometimes moving your ceremony up a half hour can ensure the perfect outdoor ceremony. We know how to keep our equipment dry and your photos beautiful! Sara June couples in the past haven’t had to worry. We work with the weather, and if you have a wedding planner or day-of coordinator, we all stay in the loop. You can stay worry-free!
Surprisingly, we think the best month to get married in Jamaica is October. The best weather we’ve seen on the island has been in October! You’ll get tropical weather with a breeze – maybe a little rain! – but you won’t melt. Additionally, tropical destination weddings are less popular in the fall months. Thus, airfare will be cheaper. Booking resorts and going on excursions will also be cost-effective! We have a few of our favorite Jamaican resorts you can take a look at here!
No matter the weather, we know Jamaica. Rain, shine, or strong winds! We’ll take care of you. Especially since Jamaica is windy! Island weather keeps us on our toes – and we come prepared for it. If it drizzles during your couples photos, we’ll take you to the water for beach photos. If you’re going to get wet anyway, let’s make it fun! If your wedding is delayed due to a storm, we can rearrange your timeline to make it work. If your veil keeps blowing away, we’ll hold onto it for an even better photo prop! Your destination wedding is going to be amazing in any weather!
