Married at Heidel House Resort & Spa | Green Lake, Wisconsin Wedding

I first met Julie and Joe over a year ago – they were planning a Door County wedding at Gordon Lodge on the water during a likely-to-be-peak-fall-colors-weekend. I loved the vision they had in mind, the colors they wanted to incorporate, the overall feel they wanted, and the more intimate atmosphere they were aiming for.

Fast forward through a venue change (there weren’t enough rooms in Door County for their guests because Fall Fest fell on the same weekend) to Heidel House Resort & Spa in Green Lake, Wisconsin, plus some out-of-the-ordinary emotional turmoil, and their day arrived and went off without a hitch! The weather was chillier than they expected and we definitely had some spotty fall color, but their day was beautiful, Julie was stunning, and Joe was smitten.

The girls got ready at Grey Rock; the couple was married on the lawn between the restaurant and the lake. Their guests were treated to a cocktail hour and reception in the Daycholah Room. Once it got dark, the Heidel House entertainment staff started a bonfire outside the reception and s’mores were had by all!

A highlight of their day was on one of the piers… this is where Joe saw Julie for the first time (spoiler: his jaw dropped!) and where they read their vows to each other. The couple didn’t wish to share their personal vows in front of everyone so they wrote the sweetest personalized vows ahead of time and then read them to each other while over the water prior to their ceremony. Tears were shed and many sweet kisses were stolen… definitely a moment to remember forever.

If a couple is looking for a peaceful venue to have both their ceremony and reception… surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors but includes the luxury of venue coordinators, delicious on-site catering, and extras like a beach and bonfires… Heidel House is a strong contender!
