Jacob couldn’t have chosen a sweeter way to propose to Michaela. Jacob reached out to me for a surprise engagement that he wanted to do in their backyard. I agreed to meet him at their place to capture the surprise proposal.
She came home after an extra shift at work (shout out to a fellow nurse!) and did not foresee any of the events that unfolded that magical evening. While she was working, Jacob drove hours away to pick up their new adorable puppy (who was totally in on the surprise), strung up lights in their beautiful backyard in Neenah, and had a special tag made for the pup. The whole time, Michaela thought they were just going out for dinner.
Michaela got ready and met Jacob on the patio… she was completely surprised to find Jacob all dressed up holding their new puppy, Willow! Their older dog, Winnie, was already out in the backyard ready to celebrate. Michaela greeted their new puppy to read the collar in surprise, “Will you marry my dad?” Michaela said yes with the biggest smile on her face! Little did she know, her immediate family was waiting at a nearby restaurant and rushed over as soon as they heard the proposal happened. Among lots of hugs and smiles, we raced the sun (and won!) by taking the pups to a cute little downtown green space in Neenah for a “we just got a new puppy AND we’re engaged” portrait session!
Congrats Michaela and Jacob on their engagement and the new fluffy addition to their family. Winnie and Willow are happy pups to their engaged mom and dad!
