Wedding photographer with a knack for picture perfect details and a heart that beats for travel and adventure.
Kylah and Sam’s Sandals Royal Caribbean wedding ceremony was held on a private island that’s just offshore from the resort. The weather on their March wedding day was hot, partly cloudy, and windy. It gave the perfect tropical vibe to the day as Kylah and Sam got ready for the wedding.
The wedding coordinators at the Sandals Royal Caribbean resort property were fantastic and worked really well with our photographer-videographer team. The main coordinator we worked with was Josie. She and her team went above and beyond to make sure every single person at the wedding was accommodated (seriously, they are so-detail oriented that nothing gets missed!). They were so helpful with ensuring we were able to get the photos and video that Kylah and Sam wanted; it blew us out of the water)! The help they gave us made our job easier! Keep reading to see all of the fun and special moments that were captured at Kylah and Sam’s gorgeous wedding.
Sam and Kylah enjoy many of the same hobbies and activities. They like to watch movies, eat out, go to pubs, travel, fish, and play with their dog and cat. You may be wondering how they met? Actually, they met by chance when Kylah was showing a home to Sam’s brother and sister-in-law. Sam had tagged along to the home showing, and the rest is history!
The night before the wedding, Sam and Kylah invited their guests to a Beach Bonfire Welcome Party. It was a wonderful time for them and their guests to enjoy – complete with a bar, four (yes, four!) types of sangria, finger foods, and the party even included a fire dancer! There is no shortage of options for entertainment at a Sandals Royal Caribbean Wedding, that’s for sure!
Kylah, her bridesmaids, and her mother-in-law got their hair and makeup done by the resort’s spa. Then the ladies got ready in a room right next door to where the guys were. Sam and the groomsmen and some friends also all got ready together. They all just hung out and had a really chill afternoon having fun! Kylah did a first look with her bridesmaids and her future mother-in-law and then did a separate first look with her future father-in-law too.
Next, the ceremony time came and everything was beautifully decorated! A beautiful triangle, teepee-shaped arch was used for Sam and Kylah’s ceremony. It was accented with rolled mats down the aisle and palm fronds alongside those. There was lots of greenery surrounding it all to complete the look. White roses and white hydrangeas for the bride and bridesmaids’ bouquets complimented it all!
Since they chose not to do a first look, Kylah wanted to have as many tears as possible from Sam. He saw her for the first time walking down the aisle and definitely got a little choked up! Trevor was sure to capture all of those special moments on video that Kylah and Sam wanted to remember. Kylah did not have any family that attended so Sam’s Dad walked Kylah down the aisle. It was so sweet!
Their cocktail hour was also on the island in a separate spot and the reception was in a third spot, at the private island. They chose to use paper lanterns and bistro lights to decorate their cocktail hour space and the reception space. The space was also complemented by a beautiful full moon that night! The guests enjoyed island herb-rubbed chicken as one entree choice and Surf n’ Turf as the other entree choice. The couple’s signature cocktail was a Spicy Watermelon Margarita, and it was absolutely delicious!
