Wedding photographer with a knack for picture perfect details and a heart that beats for travel and adventure.
This beautiful waterfront wedding at beckets was an intimate day to remember. Abbey and Michal were so excited for their wedding and nothing – not even COVID – could stop them from saying, “I do!” We had a fun engagement session back in October, and I knew this sweet couple would be ready for anything.
Abbey and Michal put so much thought and effort into their wedding day to make it a magical, fun-loving day—and it definitely was! It’s all in the details! Abbey and her mom created all of the flower arrangements, making this a truly handcrafted wedding full of Hobby Lobby flowers, handmade bouquets, boutonnieres, and wrist corsages with pops of color. Abbey even made the programs herself!
Our day started with putting all these finite details together and getting ready for the big event. Abbey’s mom is her rock, and she was by Abbey’s side all day long to make sure everything went smoothly. I love when parents get involved, and we made a great team keeping everything on schedule and making sure Abbey and Michal didn’t have to worry about a thing. The bridesmaids were so supportive (and gorgeous in their Azazie dresses!), helping Abbey soak in every moment of her special day (check out their confetti toss in the hotel room to start off the day’s festivities in style!).
Before the ceremony, Abbey made sure to recreate a picture showing off her garter, just like her grandmother’s photo. Michal’s smile was so sweet and touching when they shared their first look under the tree in front of St. Vincent’s Church. Abbey was a vision in her dress: a gorgeous Elaine’s Gown full of lace detail, intricate beading, and a champagne overlay. I asked Abbey and Michal how they were feeling and if there were any nerves, but both said they were ready to just say I do!
About sixty close family and friends gathered at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh for their unplugged wedding ceremony. Abbey walked down the aisle in her gorgeous gown and Betsey Johnson wedding shoes and nobody could take her eyes off her. Abbey and Michal sealed their vows with a triumphant kiss, skipping down the church steps to cheers and bubbles blown from guests.
The wedding party ushered Abbey and Michal to Rhapsodies Gourmet Frozen Custard (I hear chocolate is Michal’s favorite flavor!) directly across the street from the church for Abbey and Michal’s first act as a married couple: savoring their love and tasty ice cream! The bridal party ate on the steps of the church before assembling for photos in front of the church and at the Oshkosh Public Museum. Abbey and Michal had some alone time taking their couple’s portraits at the old firehouse on 6th Avenue in Oshkosh. This building has so much character and detail—perfect for their detail-focused wedding day.
Not only did Abbey and Michal think up so many details during their ceremony, their efforts did not go unnoticed at the reception. Just as ice cream showed off their goofy, sweet personalities, they added a touch of whimsy to their reception at beckets, incorporating the movie Up, stamps and travel-themed décor in their cake topper, trays and trinkets. Potentially the most important of all these special details (and there were many throughout the night), was the memorial table set aside for loved ones who meant so much to Abbey and Michal. Even more, Abbey carried a special handkerchief with her grandma and her brother’s handwriting on it.
The reception continued with delicious bruschetta chicken, classic Mac n’ cheese, and assorted desserts catered from beckets. Abbey and Michal cut their very own scrumptious cake from Manderfield’s before we took epic sunset pictures on the water for a dramatically beautiful scenic ending to this perfect day. Their guests danced the night away and took silly pictures in the photo booth. Abbey changed into her Keds bridal sneakers to dance with her bridesmaids, closing the evening in style.
Abbey and Michal plan to honeymoon in Minnesota where they can hike and continue celebrating. Check out their amazing wedding photos below for the inside scoop on all the gorgeous details!
