Sara June Photography’s Giving Back Initiative

Hi beauties! We have invested in Her! If you booked a session in 2019, a portion of your fee was set aside to be donated to a local women’s nonprofit. I chose the three nonprofits for our donation in 2019: Harbor House, Women’s Fund of the Fox Valley, and the Breast Cancer Family Foundation. All of you courageous and adventurous women who booked a boudoir session with me then were able to answer a question about these nonprofits in my pre-session questionnaire, so I could figure out which one resonated more with you. Being kind goes a long way, and giving back to women in the community can help uplift and provide support to so many in the area who need it.

This process was so exciting! The three nonprofits I chose are doing so much for the women in our community, and it was so fun to see which of these all of you clients wanted your money to go to the most. These worthy causes are so important to keeping our community afloat.

In honor of all my beautiful Boudoir by Sara June clients of 2019, here is where your money has been donated:

41% of you requested that your contribution was sent to Harbor House in Appleton. This is a domestic abuse facility where women can find sanctuary from unsafe situations in their home. Women can bring their families and even get help for their furry family members in order to start their journey to a better, safer, abuse-free life. This haven exists to break the terrible stigma of mental, physical, and emotional stress to women and families. This program shelters women for free, provides a safe environment, educates the residents when needed, and even provides some legal advocacy. We were able to donate enough money to cover eight sessions with a lawyer or attorney! These eight, one-hour sessions will provide legal advice to women who need to get out of any situation that may be legally binding. High-five to you bombshell women for choosing this organization!

Giving funds to women from phenomenal women is such a rewarding feeling. We were also able to give to the Women’s Fund of the Fox Valley: a general women and children’s fund that seeks to help the welfare of women spanning all different ages. Women’s Fund invests in women and girls by providing grants, encouragement, and education. This organization received 36% of your votes, so I decided to direct our dollars to helping young women ages eighteen to twenty-nine receive educational instruction about their money. Financial literacy is so important, and something I don’t think we get enough classes about in school. Our dollars will help women with children as well as single women navigate the tricky waters of taxes, the health care system, and general healthy fiscal practices. I am absolutely thrilled to be helping women that way! Through our donation to the EmpowerHER program, we are on the way to breaking the cycle of poverty! Your sessions made it possible to do so.

The Breast Cancer Family Foundation also received a donation from all of you fabulous women! With 23% of your votes, your money will support women and families dealing with cancer. There is an emphasized focus on women battling breast cancer, and your funds will help with their journey to beat this terrible disease. This foundation also provides education regarding cancer awareness and prevention to Wisconsin’s youth. Their educational programs are geared to inspire everyone to live healthy, aware, and active lives through making good choices.

I absolutely love empowering you during our sessions, and it has been an honor to pass the empowerment on by sharing a portion of your session fees. I have decided to continue giving back each year, so 2020 will have three new nonprofits that will receive our donation. These don’t necessarily have to support women and children either. We are a strong group of glowing, powerful women and mothers, but our money can also go towards supporting your other passions—like helping pets! You will be suggesting and voting on the nonprofits we donate to for 2020. If you know a cause, list it on our Facebook group, or contact me! I’d love to hear what you are passionate about, who you like donating to, and which cause you think our money should go towards.

This is something we can (and should!) all participate in! We have the opportunity to give back and empower our community. It is your turn to help support other women after our session—just like I support and empower you! I invite you to join our VIP Facebook group so we can list all of our nonprofit suggestions, and then vote on a poll to decide which three worthy causes our money can help. This is so exciting! Our hundreds of dollars have supported women in these local organizations and continued my passion for kindness and lifting up women who need a boost.

Above all else, thank you all for trusting me to create amazing memories for you and your loved one and to use your bombshell session to give back to local women in need of some support. You all are beautiful! In the name of women empowerment, we ended 2019 on a grateful, uplifting, and kind note! You are all generous, kind women with hearts of solid gold, and I thank you for trusting me this past year. What a dreamy way to start off a new decade!
