Destination weddings in Green Bay, WI are a little different than a destination wedding in the Caribbean. For starters, usually something like a love for the Packers football team is what attracts couples to Lambeau Field and Wisconsin in general. Carolyn and Chris were no exception… except, their story is even more beautiful – finding each other in an airport by chance.
Let me let Chris explain: “Carolyn is a flight attendant and I was a gate agent in Baltimore for Southwest Airlines. On November 14, 2015 Carolyn was flying through Baltimore and I was working the gate her plane came into. Opened the door up and she was standing in the cockpit talking to the pilots. She turned around and commented on my Green Bay Packers lanyard. I noticed that Carolyn was wearing one too and we began talking about the Packers. Eventually I said I needed to get in and talk to the pilots, once I was done and turned around, she was part way back in the aircraft cleaning. She had some time between flights and left. I went over to visit a friend at another gate, which happened to be the gate Carolyn was flying out of. We joked about running into each other and she boarded the plane to get ready to fly to Denver. I stayed and helped my friend board the plane. My friend and I noticed on some paperwork that Carolyn had written “GO PACK GO From Carolyn and the girls”. While helping a passenger board the plane I picked up the microphone and told Carolyn to “give the Ops agent a hard time, she’s a Bears fan”. While I was saying this one of the other flight attendants whispered in my ear that Carolyn thought I was very attractive. I told her that I thought Carolyn was pretty and left. I went and found her on Facebook which confirmed how attractive she was. I absolutely loved her smile. I debated for a few days what to do. Finally I summoned up some courage and added Carolyn on Facebook. We quickly began talking and tried to plan a first date. Trouble was Carolyn lived in Portland, Oregon and I lived in Baltimore, Maryland. We decided to meet in Denver, Colorado where Carolyn was based as a flight attendant.”
And, so, after a first date in Denver on December 10, the two began dating and managed to see each other at least every few weeks (a feat for those who travel for a living!) before deciding to both move to Denver, CO.
Chris and Carolyn were engaged on a beach in Hawaii (anyone else swooning?!) and decided to bring Carolyn’s west coast family and Chris’ east coast family to the midwest for a destination wedding. They searched for the perfect venues and found them in Arien’s Hill at Titletown for the ceremony and the Champions Room at Lambeau Field for the reception.
The couple put their complete trust in Johanna, of Witt & Co. Events, to plan their wedding day, down to the smallest details (check out those football placecards done by Jenna Kast Studio and the flowers by Ginger Birch!) and she didn’t disappoint. Their wedding day went off without a hitch and the bride and groom loved being surprised by their own wedding!
Chris and Carolyn are meant for each other – it’s so very clear when you see the two of them together. They make each other laugh, shower each other in the sweetest kisses, and share tender touches with every opportunity.
