Wedding photographer with a knack for picture perfect details and a heart that beats for travel and adventure.
Megan + Alex, both nurses, met at work. You’d know though, without actually knowing them well, that the nursing profession is a perfect fit for both of their personalities. Both are sweet, a little silly, have the kindest hearts, and are a complete perfect fit for the other. On their wedding day, Alex never ran out of tender kisses for his wife… and Megan’s outgoing personality lit up the room. Everyone could easily see just how head-over-heels their love story truly was.
After getting dolled up in a light-filled room on the first floor of The Howard, Megan wore a beaded strapless mermaid gown, a bold lip, and a delicate floral crown. Her bridesmaids wore matching floral crowns and wine colored floor length dresses. Each bridesmaid chose their own style of gown, though all of the gowns were the same color. This ensured each bridesmaid felt comfortable all day and night but the bridal party looked perfectly put together!
Megan’s bouquet was as elegant as the venue. A few protea stole the show both in her bouquet and as part of their table centerpieces at the reception! Never underestimate the power of a handful of large blooms.
Alex and his groomsmen got ready off site but walked to The Howard to meet the ladies before the ceremony. Before the ceremony, they hung out on the second floor in a truly masculine lounge. Flanked by green velvet chairs, the bar featured black straws, gold shaker tins, and top shelf liquor. What a perfect space for a groom to wait to see his love!
Their wedding ceremony was held in the upper level of the newly-restored historic building in front of a perfect birchwood log filled fireplace. They vowed their forevers to each other under stately metal chandeliers in front of their loved ones… a short reading, a beautiful song, many promises of love, and they were husband and wife!
Afterwards, family photos were taken out front – because, let’s be honest, there’s not a bad side to The Howard and for their large families the steps seemed perfect – followed by hors d’oeuvres and a cocktail hour at the bar in the gorgeous ballroom.
The bridal party braved some chilly winds on the lawn for photos and then the bride and groom walked down the middle of Washington Avenue to complete their couples portraits with some stunning fall colors found on the side of a building in Downtown Oshkosh.
Back at The Howard, dinner was served buffet-style while the bridal party enjoyed their view from the head table placed on the stage. Armed with delicious cake, guests roamed up to the balcony to escape the bustle and noise and were greeted with a nice perspective of the history of the building.
Megan + Alex marked their first dance under an uplit ceiling – a classy touch to end the night!
As if their wedding day at The Howard wasn’t dreamy enough, these two honeymooned in California!
